The Latest

The Journey has been amazing so far.  We have been preparing for Katelyn and Zoe's Liver Cell Transplant that will take place in Pittsburgh.  We were hoping this was going to take place in early October, but it is looking like we may be there in the next couple weeks.  We are still trying to find housing in Olathe for our move.  The ministry preparation is going great as we are lining up mission teams for weeks during the summer.  We are asking for people to pray for our daughters as we travel to Pittsburgh for their transplant and for our housing in Olathe.  We are also in the process of raising our ministry finacial support. It is a praise to announce that we have been able to raise a third of our budget, but we still have two thirds to go.  We rest in the fact that God's timing is perfect and He will supply all our needs.  Thanks for your prayers and keep checking back to see what God is doing in the Journey of Harvest Community Church and the Bachman Bunch.

Our New Journey

God is so good!  He sees us and cares for us and wants a personal relationship with us that will change our lives forever.  He has only the best for us and waits patiently even when we take detours and forget to focus on Him.  He is the 'lover of our souls' even when we feel we don't deserve it.  He chooses to build His Kingdom by working through our lives... not because of who we are... but despite who we are.
There are so many changes going on in our lives right now.  Two of our daughters are about to have liver cell transplants to cure their very rare Crigler-Najjar Syndrome.  This is a new procedure and we thank God for this opportunity.  Years ago we were told that a cure would not come in our girls' lifetime.  So the fact that this procedure is available is such a miracle.  If everything is successful our girls will no longer need to sleep under blue medical lights every night and their bodies will no longer be jaundiced.  You can read more about Katelyn and Zoe at www.KatelynsLight.com.
The other exciting change in our lives is becoming Church Planters.  God is calling us to Colorado... which will be a huge change from south Texas.  We will be starting Harvest Community Church in the small farming town of Olathe.  We started by laying out our ministry plan, raising prayer support, setting a budget and attending Church Planter's Basic Training.  With those key steps complete we are now working on raising financial support.  Wow!  What a huge step of faith.  Jeff has been on staff in traditional church settings for more than 16 years and I've taught in public schools for 12 years.  To step away from a set salary is a complete shift in thinking, but we believe God is in control and knows our needs.  As we adjust our perspective we rest in knowing that He will care for us through the generosity of His people.  We are in awe as we witness a body of believers (many of whom don't even know eachother) pulling together to fulfill the Great Commission.
We pray for the people of Olathe and the ministry of Harvest Community Church that lies ahead of us.  As we wrap up our lives in Texas and prepare to make the big move, we keep our eyes on Christ and our hearts steadfast in the fact that we are in His will.  And so... our Harvest Journey begins.

"Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you.  And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age."  Matthew 28:19-20
